Hair Loss During Pregnancy
Becoming a new mum is a super exciting time, but along with your new bundle of joy comes some changes to your body, skin and hair. You may have noticed loss of hair during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding, try not to worry this is totally normal. Although it doesn't feel like it should be happening it's those good old hormones wreaking havoc once again.
Why me?!
During pregnancy your hormone levels change in a way which prolongs your hair growth phase, meaning your hair stays in the 'resting phase' for longer. Yay! Hello long, shiny, strong thick hair.
But once you have given birth, your hormones begin to normalise, this is where the loss of hair comes into play (Sad face) as all the hair that should have fallen out, shed all at once. Most new mums will experience this hair loss and we understand how upsetting it can be. All is not lost (literally) here at Cocoa Locks HQ we have spent years on extensive research into hair growth, especially for new and expecting mums.
