Vegetarian. Gluten free.
The four nutrients, and what they're actually for
These are the only claims we're permitted to make, and the only ones we do make.
- Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and normal skin
- Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, skin and nails
- Selenium contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and nails
- Folate contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and has a role in the process of cell division
You'll notice folate isn't listed against hair. That's deliberate — there's no authorised hair claim for folate, so we don't make one, even though plenty of hair supplements do.

The honest bit about sugar
Sugar is the first ingredient. We're not going to pretend otherwise.
What that means in practice: 5.3g of sugar per serving — a bit more than a level teaspoon — and 26 calories. A standard high-street hot chocolate runs to 200–300 calories and rather more sugar than that.
It's there because it's what makes this a hot chocolate you'll actually drink every day rather than a supplement you abandon in a fortnight. That's the trade-off, and you should make it with your eyes open.
How to make it
Two level teaspoons (7g) into a mug. Add 140ml of near-boiling water, or hot milk if you prefer. Stir well. One a day, whenever suits you.
The Chocolate Shake works the same way with cold water or milk, shaken or blended.
Who shouldn't drink it
- Anyone under 16
- Anyone with a milk allergy
- If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your midwife, GP or pharmacist first
- If you take prescription medication or have a medical condition, check with your GP or pharmacist and take this ingredient list with you
